Must Haves On Your Cruise

Must Have Items To Take

When you embark on a cruise, you want to make sure you have everything you will need. Most cruises do allow for excursions off the boat regularly, but you don’t want to have to depend on getting off the boat to track down something you need. Forgetting some things can even mean you won’t be allowed to get on the boat to begin with! Read on for some things to be sure you remember to bring along on your upcoming cruise.

For Swimming/Sunbathing:
You will want a bathing suit or two and some sort of cover-up or sarong. Men’s nylon swimming shorts are also a very versatile item that double as walking shorts and dry quickly. A bathing cap might also be a good idea, as many pools onboard ships are filled with saltwater, which can wreak havoc on dyed or sensitive hair. Sunglasses and a hat are also a good idea.

For Sports:
If you intend to take advantage of the ship’s exercise facilities, you may wish to bring along your workout clothing. Also, many cruise lines have all sorts of sporting activities available on the boat such as racket ball and rock climbing walls. Be sure you pack some clothes that you don’t mind getting sweaty in.

Must Haves:

There are a few things that you absolutely cannot forget if you want your cruise to run smoothly. Some of the essentials include:

Passport
Cruise Tickets
Plane Tickets
Keys
Wallet
Camera with film or digital storage device
Medications with prescription attached
Vitamins
Anti-nausea medication
Vanity or toiletry kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, skincare, razor, hairbrush)

There are a few things that are important…

to note when considering what you need to bring with you on your cruise. Appliances such as hair dryers, curling irons and travel irons may or may not be permitted. This information should be available from the cruise line and should be determined prior to packing and departure.

It may be a good idea to also bring an empty paper towel tube to protect paper items you might want to keep as keepsakes such as menus and programs. You may also want to stick some sealable sandwich bags in your luggage to keep things like shells you may find on your journey. Sometimes it is the free little treasures you come across along the way that make the best memorabilia later.
