Getting Ready for Your Disney Cruise

Fun Equals Disney Cruise

Disney Cruises are Fun!

So you’ve been invited to travel for four days and of course you thought you can use the break. A break to get away from all the pressures of city life. Of course, you said yes… and the good news is you’re going on a Disney cruise… so you get excited even more. After all, traveling (and a cruise at that), doesn’t have an age limit… from children to teens to couples to families to senior age groups. Everyone has fun.

So, now the next question is how do you get ready and what items to bring?

The answer is simple:
The things that you usually bring to a regular trip are the same things that you bring to a cruise.

Put your passport and pertinent documents in a separate purse/wallet that you can carry all the time. The ship docks in different locations and just like any travel abroad you need to present identification, permits, visa and the like to authorities whenever they require it.

Money is important too. Though your Disney cruise package has already been paid for, that doesn’t mean you don’t need to bring money. For souvenirs and extra expense, cash or credit card prove to be handy.

You might want to bring along your 3G cell phone, complete with built-in camera. This is not only for keeping you and those you left behind in touch but also to send them updated images of your trip every now and then.

Make sure to replenish your vanity kit

If you have special needs like vitamins, moisturizers, sun block, lip balm and even soap if you have sensitive skin, they must be double checked to make sure that things go smoothly. If you have allergies, check out the menu of the restaurants ahead of time if possible to know if you can request for special meals.

Maps, itinerary and list of things to do can be included in your luggage too. You can maximize your Disney cruise adventure by listing all the things that you want to try while on board. There is a cruise planner online that you may use so you know what to expect or include in your itinerary. You can be spontaneous but it’s good to know the amenities and facilities available onboard.

Don’t overdress. Just pack basic, light and comfortable clothing. A Disney themed cruise is no less than fun so you need clothes that don’t restrict your movements. You should bring swimsuit, sports wear, slip ons, appropriate shoes, eyewear, shorts, jeans and shirts that will complement your activities. If you want to just lounge around, then bring resort dresses and a wrap.

Expect a wonderful time aboard

Anything with a Disney stamped on whether it’s a simple stuff toy, a ride, theme park and especially a cruise promises to be enjoyable so don’t hesitate to join the fun. There are many activities on board that you can delve into like arts and crafts, ping pong, swimming, spa and making friends so go ahead and practice your creative and social skills.

Document your trip. Bring your camera, notebook, video camera or any gadget that record your trip. Not only you can show it to your friends back home but can also bring good memories back long after the trip is over. The most important thing to prepare is your common sense. Don’t spoil the fun, loosen up and always keep in mind that you’re there for a reason—that is to experience a different kind of adventure and have lots of fun.

So there, you’re about ready to go on board and have a blast. Make a checklist of what to bring and if possible pack early, travel light and be punctual.
