A Last Minute Cruise

Last minute somethings usually give off a negative connotation but in the case of travel cruises, this just isn’t so. Unlike flights where booking at the last hour may put you only on the chance passenger list or a last minute preparation for an exam or meeting can leave you cramming, booking a voyage just a few days before the ship sails can actually give you some of the best deals.

Luxury liners would always want to sail with a full “ship” so when sailing date is fast approaching and there is still plenty of room left, these slots are sold out with huge discounts. While last minute cruising is not for families who have been planning the vacation of their lives for a long time, it might work out well for those who have some money to spend and are suddenly given a few days off. So don’t fret when friends cancel out on your weekend plans. Instead, check the internet for fabulous last minute promos.

Less than $1,000:

Those who want to splurge on traveling the seas can have a truly enjoyable and value-for-money trip if they book a luxury ship that is set to sail in 45 days or less.

For $999, the Celebrity luxury liners can already offer a 14-night Panama Canal tour aboard the Mercury. Or you may also opt for a 10-night W. Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Jade which goes for only $879. A 7-night Mexican voyage aboard the Princess Sapphire will only cost you $799 while with the Royal Caribbean International a trip to Mexico also for 7 nights is priced at $789.

Within $700 – $400:
The following packages are just the right length and at just the right price to give you a wonderful vacation without breaking your bank. A 7-night W. Caribbean trip on Summit, one of Celebrity Cruises’ majestic ships, would cost only $689. With trips scheduled to leave in only a month’s time, a 7-night W. Caribbean cruise aboard the Holland America Line’s Veendam is priced much lower at $599.

The Norwegian Line currently has two cruises that fall under this category: a 7-night W. Caribbean voyage on the Norwegian Pearl that goes for only $529 and a 7-night Mexico cruise on the Norwegian Star. These Norwegian ships are set to sail for these particular destinations in 45 days or less.

Not to be outdone, the Princess ships also have their 7-night Caribbean trips. One on the Ruby Princess priced at $599, and another aboard the Caribbean Princess priced at $499. They have different sailing schedules but all considered last minute.

Less than $400:

Scheduled for a short break in a few days but don’t plan to spend all that much? Some of these last minute deals that are so low priced may just be perfect for you.

The Royal Caribbean International has some cruises for those on a budget that don’t need early reservations. A 4-night sail for the W. Caribbean aboard the Navigator of the Sea costs only $399. A 7-night Caribbean voyage on Vision of the Seas is truly a bargain at $299, while a 3-night Bahamas cruise on Majesty of the Seas is priced at $249.

Other incredibly cheap vacation packages are Carnival Elation’s 3-night Mexico cruise which goes for $259, a 5-night W. Caribbean sail aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Century at $349, and 3-night Bahamas cruise on the Norwegian Sky for only $229.

While the ideal vacation is one that has been prepared weeks ahead, booking late for traveling on luxury liners can be turned into a great opportunity for saving money.
